My Social Work Experience
I have experience working with at-risk adolescents. I have worked for 1 year as a Street Outreach Specialist at a drop-in center. In this experience, I have practiced crisis intervention and held group discussions. This experience taught me about ways to stay calm in a crisis and time management skills.
Most recently, I have worked as a case manager in an outpatient mental health and substance abuse facility. In this role, I have managed adults with a diagnosis of a mental health disorder and/or substance abuse disorder. I also completed intake assessments on clients. The assessment forms I have experience completing include psychosocial and case management assessments. I was also provided experience in leading clinical groups. This was a challenging experience, and I have learned a lot from the experience. My hopes are to continue in the mental health and substance abuse field.
